Robert Mack Ingram

I haven't posted in SO long. We have been so crazy lately from having a baby to moving a month after I haven't had any time to blog! So much has happened so now I need to play catch up. Bare with me!

Robert Mack Ingram
May 12, 2016
7 pounds - 21 inches

The day Mack arrived went exactly as we planned it would, does that ever happen?! My doctor is a wonderful man who induces a week early if it isn't your second baby and if everything is on track. So that's what we did! And thank goodness because I was so ready to meet my little man! We arrived at the hospital at 7 a.m to start the induction and as soon as we arrived I changed into the fashionable birthing gown and was given pitocin. This time around didn't take NEARLY as long as it did with Scarlett! I started having hard contractions an hour after and a little later my doctor came in to break my water. Can I just note that he has VERY large hands and it might have been the most uncomfortable I've ever been and hope to ever be. I quiver just thinking about it haha. After that unfortunate situation I was given an epidural HALLELUJUH! Women who give birth without any form of medication are my heroes, so grateful to live in a time of modern medicine. After I was given my epidural Rob and I just hung out and watched movies for a couple of hours, we weren't expecting Mack to come anytime soon because of how long it took for me to be dilated to a 10 with Scarlett. Our nurse would come in every so often and after a couple of hours I was at a 3. So we just hung out some more not expecting anything to happen for awhile. After a little Rob decided to get the nurse to ask her to check me again because he was bored (or just super impatient haha). She checked me and I was at a 10 ready to go! What the heck!? We did not see that coming and had to text everyone telling them to hurry over ASAP! The doctor came in and after about 10 minutes of pushing he was out! Rob told me he wasn't going to watch this time but after a full 10 seconds he quickly started looking and even decided to take a picture of the action (thanks babe.)

As soon as he came out everyone on the other side of the door had their heads glued to it! Scarlett was one of them and as soon as she heard Mack crying she kept telling everyone to "shhh!" and trying to look at him under the door. Rob hurried and grabbed Scarlett to come see him and she just stared at him and pointed. She probably had no idea what this little baby was doing but she quickly learned and has been the sweetest sister to him since.

I never expected to really have the same bond with Mack that I did with Scarlett right away because she was my first. But I was so wrong! He shares a special place in my heart and I can already tell we are going to have such a close bond. As soon as he was born my heart burst the exact same way it did with Scarlett. I feel like my heart is broken into thirds and each person in my family fills it to the top. I was so worried about having Mack because I had a hard time after Scarlett was born with getting back to feeling like myself but this time around was so much easier. I am happier then I have ever been and I just feel so complete! I knew Scarlett needed a little buddy and I am so happy we got pregnant when we did. We are still planning on having more little ones, but are taking a much needed break to enjoy the two we have now.

Macks birth was so easy and peaceful and so is he. He is the sweetest little baby and sleeps ALL the time. Couldn't ask for anything better right? We love him so much and can't wait to watch him grow!

Things to know about Mack

- He was named after Rob's grandpa Robert Ingram who Rob was also named after so he is the third Robert in the family! (That was really confusing to read because of all the Roberts haha.)

- He is going by Mack though, unless he decides he wants to be called Rob in the future. Mack came from a football player on Rob's favorite team the Raiders.

-He takes about 3-4 naps a day ranging anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 1/2 hours. Scarlett always says, "Mom he is a sleepy guy!" ain't that the truth!

-Ever since he was born all he wanted to do was eat and EAT! I wasn't able to produce enough food for him so we switched him to formula which actually ended being a good thing for us because...

-About a week after he was born we noticed he kept waking up sounding like he was choking all night long and it freaked us out! Turns out he just had acid reflux and after we switched him to formula it started going away!

-Him and Scarlett are probably complete opposites when she was this age. He just sleeps and eats and all she wanted to do was play play and play! He is the chillest baby and never cries unless he is hungry or tired.

-He has THE biggest feet i've ever seen on a baby and is almost catching up with Scarlett in shoe size already.

-He is always soaking wet from either spit or drool. Poor guy probably gets his clothes changed 5 times a day.

-His has the biggest smile and is a real flirt already. :)

New Stages

Over the New Year we went up to Robs parents cabin and while we were there one night we were all playing games downstairs late in the night when I hear a sweet little voice saying "Mama!" Scarlett was so excited because she had just escaped her crib and opened up her door all by herself. I think she had been working on it for awhile because she looked so proud of herself when she came down the stairs hahaha. It was the cutest and most frightening thing because then I realized we had to put her into a bed.

Scarlett has never been one to love sleep so you can imagine my excitement when this happened. When we came home we made her crib into a toddler bed and it just took about a week for her to really get use to it. We ended up just putting her in her bed at night and for naps and locking the door behind us so she couldn't get out. The first couple of times we did that we would always go check on her and find her lying asleep right in front of her door on the floor. One morning we went in to get her when she woke up because she was crying for some reason and Rob couldn't find her anywhere! So he turned the light on and she came crawling out from under her bed haha! After that night she has been really good about falling asleep in her bed AND waking up in her bed.

Another great story that happened that first week… I put Scarlett down for a nap when I usually do and for about thirty minutes straight she was kicking her door saying "mom" over and over and over again. Finally I decided to call it quits and give in. When I opened her door she stuck her head out and gave me a grin. I turned around to walk away and right when I did I see her sprinting past me butt naked! I haven't laughed so hard in so long! It was one of the funniest things to see, mainly because I was not expecting it at all!

Baby BOY!

A couple of weeks ago we found out that we are having a baby boy! I am so excited to have a girl and a boy, but super nervous because I feel like I have no idea what I am getting myself into with a boy! I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I had Scarlett though… and that ended out alright haha. I am definitely a lot less nervous for this one because I know what to expect and not expect (sleep), while with Scarlett I had no idea why that baby never wanted to sleep!

This pregnancy so far has been a lot different… but similar in some ways as well. My morning sickness lasted A LOT longer through out the whole day and I haven't had any energy at all. With Scarlett I was always up and going through out the whole day, but with this one I usually try to get everything done by the morning so I can nap when Scarlett does. I have been craving Mexican food and Hamburgers.. mmm.

The day we found out we took Scarlett to the ultrasound and she couldn't have been less interested, except for she did seem really concerned as to what they were doing to my stomach and wouldn't take her eyes off of the Doctor.

Christmas 2015

Christmas morning Rob and I woke up around 7 in the morning, which was a huge surprise to me because I usually can't sleep and am up by 5! Minutes after we woke up we heard Scarlett wake up and I didn't want to miss a thing so I ran to grab my camera to record her cuteness. When she woke up she was crying, but as soon as Rob went in to grab her he said "Do you want to see what Santa brought?", she stood right up and said "Ooooooo! Ya!" I wasn't expecting her to really understand too much of what was going on but to my surprise she was getting it! Maybe it was all of the Christmas movies I forced on her since Halloween ;).

As soon as she got out of her crib we walked into the living room and right when she saw all of her things in the living room she literally just dropped to the floor lol! She laid there for a bit, stared at everything, and then went right to her presents. It was so cute to see how excited she was and how happy she was! I will never forget that cute little grin she had on her face that morning!

I have the video I recorded but I need to find my camera.. ah! So for now I will post the few pictures I took and upload the video later.

Thanksgiving 2015

Thanksgiving this year was just a typical one for us! We are lucky enough to have both Rob and I'd parents here in town so we always get to see both on holidays! An unfortunate side though is all of my family in Texas we miss. :(

We ate delicious food at my parents house followed by the cutest sledding trip ever! Somehow I knew Scarlett would love being pushed down a huge hill on a sled haha! It was the cutest thing to see her face smiling from ear to ear and hear her screaming "weeeee!" All the way down. She is at such a cute stage right now and it has been so fun to see how she reacts to all the new things she can do this winter now that she is older!

And we are expecting in MAY! Which I was so happy about because I could wear tight clothing and not have to suck in my Thanksgiving day gut :).

Scarlett got really thirsty after sledding so she got a quick drink out of Rugers bowl...

Halloween 2015

I'm SO behind on blogging! I have been so lazy lately and haven't had any extra energy to blog, but I love being able to look back at these memories. So i've finally made myself sit down tonight and catch up on everything!

This past Halloween was so fun with Scarlett! The first house we went to was my parents and she had no idea what was going on. All she knew is grandma gave her chocolate... which happens every time she goes there, so nothing new lol! We went to about 5 or so houses after that and by the last couple she started to get the hang of it. After she started realizing what was going on you could tell she was getting excited, she just wanted to knock on the door, get the candy, and go… no communication whatsoever haha. Me too Scarlett. When some people wouldn't answer the door she would peep in the windows and say "hello?!!" It was definitely a fun Halloween and now whenever she sees her bucket from Halloween she brings it to me and says "more!" Hahaha.

Life lately

Life around here lately hasn't been too crazy. Scarlett is up to all of her usual shenanigans, along with some new ones. I wanted to write about two stories that happened recently just for my own sake so I can look back on it have a few laughs :).

I think I've talked about Scarlett's sweet tooth on the blog before... She takes after me in that aspect. Anyways, lately I have been trying to not let her have any candy of any sort because all she would ever do is go directly to the candy drawer every five minutes and pull out all sorts of things! This has been going on for about a week now until today when I was trying to put her down for the night. She was fighting going to sleep for a solid 20 minutes when I gave in to her whimpers and got her out of her crib. As soon as she was out, she walked directly to the candy drawer and picked out a piece of chocolate. She put the chocolate in her mouth... Ate it... Then we went back to her room where she made no hassle and fell right to sleep. Sometimes you just really need that chocolate fix to go to bed lol.

Scarlett shenanigans #2 is quite great but super weird if it's not your own kid haha! Every time I go to the bathroom she insist on coming in with me and giving me toilet paper. This is so great because I feel like she is going to do so well with potty training when the time comes! But be cautious if you ever want to use the restroom at my house... She will follow you in and hand you toilet paper as grandma got to enjoy today. She even tried to help me wipe today, but some things I can handle on my own.......

One last thing to add in, I can finally fit all of Scarlett's hair into full on pigtails! You have no idea how long I've been waiting for this moment to come... I didn't think it ever would!! Now to get her to sit still every time I do them...
