Life lately

Life around here lately hasn't been too crazy. Scarlett is up to all of her usual shenanigans, along with some new ones. I wanted to write about two stories that happened recently just for my own sake so I can look back on it have a few laughs :).

I think I've talked about Scarlett's sweet tooth on the blog before... She takes after me in that aspect. Anyways, lately I have been trying to not let her have any candy of any sort because all she would ever do is go directly to the candy drawer every five minutes and pull out all sorts of things! This has been going on for about a week now until today when I was trying to put her down for the night. She was fighting going to sleep for a solid 20 minutes when I gave in to her whimpers and got her out of her crib. As soon as she was out, she walked directly to the candy drawer and picked out a piece of chocolate. She put the chocolate in her mouth... Ate it... Then we went back to her room where she made no hassle and fell right to sleep. Sometimes you just really need that chocolate fix to go to bed lol.

Scarlett shenanigans #2 is quite great but super weird if it's not your own kid haha! Every time I go to the bathroom she insist on coming in with me and giving me toilet paper. This is so great because I feel like she is going to do so well with potty training when the time comes! But be cautious if you ever want to use the restroom at my house... She will follow you in and hand you toilet paper as grandma got to enjoy today. She even tried to help me wipe today, but some things I can handle on my own.......

One last thing to add in, I can finally fit all of Scarlett's hair into full on pigtails! You have no idea how long I've been waiting for this moment to come... I didn't think it ever would!! Now to get her to sit still every time I do them...

3 Year Anniversary

Earlier this month Rob and I went to Vegas for a late anniversary getaway and it was the very first time I have left Scarlett overnight. Before we left I had to keep myself from thinking about leaving her because it would be make me so sick, but I am SO happy that we went and got some time to ourselves! We were gone for five nights so Scarlett spent time with both grandmas and loved it! She is spoiled rotten at both so how could you not?! Rob and I spent most of our time laying by the pool, eating, and shopping… my favorite things! :) We planned on staying out late every night to make the most of the trip, but by the time 9 or 10 rolled around we were ready for bed haha.

Having fun at both Grandma's houses. With no pants at both haha!

For my birthday last March Rob got me Taylor Swift concert tickets and we went to that the last night! It was so worth the wait and I had SO much fun! Rob did too ;) The whole trip was so much fun but of course the last day I was DYING to see Scarlett! Right when I pulled up Scarlett was coming out with my mother-in-law and had the biggest smile I have ever seen! It was so cute!

I took SO many selflies with Rob when we were gone and in half of them he is in mid sentence saying something like "no more pictures!"

We (me) danced all night as Taylor serenaded us. But don't get me wrong, Rob really does LOVE some Taylor Swift, he just keeps his love more hidden haha.

Best part of vacationing… eating whatever you want!

How Scarlett felt about not being invited to the Taylor Swift concert.

Scarlett - 18 Months

Scarlett is a year and a half!!
Height - 33 inches - 82 percentile
Weight - 21.6 pounds - 32 percentile

This is from one year ago :( She has gotten so BIG!

Scarlett is getting so big and is seeming more and more like a little toddler to me each day! Just the little things that she picks up from everyone amaze me! The other day she got herself a fruit snack and after I opened it for her, she put them all in a bowl and then walked over to the trash can to put her wrapper in there. I was amazed because sometimes I don't even do that myself haha!

She is the biggest girly-girl! Everyday she spends so much time just trying on each and every pair of her shoes until she feels like she has on the ones she wants to wear. She loves to wear jewelry, hats, gloves and any other accessory especially if its sparkly. Recently she learned how to put on my lipstick so whenever she sees any she always slathers it on and eats it if she wants a snack. Whenever I am getting ready in the morning I usually put her on the counter with me and she will do her makeup right with me!

With her looks she is JUST like Rob! But I feel like her personality is much more like mine. This morning after she woke up we went to go get her bottle, and as we were getting it she saw the treat I baked from the previous night… as she was half awake she pointed to the treat and says, "mm… num num" in her cute little sleepy voice. If that doesn't tell you she is just like me then I don't know what will!

She has been doing so much better lately with her eating and i'm so grateful for that! We have had some rough days though, with her teething every now and then, but for the most part she has improved a lot! For lunch time I will usually sit her at the table with her food and just sit right across from her and eat mine. That has seemed to help her a lot! Her favorites always vary, but right now they are chicken nuggets, apples, and noodles. She can almost eat just about anything now that she is getting more teeth in so I have been trying to introduce new food but she is a creature of habit so it is taking some time.

I love getting so spend all day with her every day and seeing how much she changes! Even on our rough days I think of how grateful I am to have such a fun loving little girl who is so happy all of the time and so much fun to be around! She has so many "favorite things" but here are some of the new ones since the last list.

Scarlett's Favorites at 18 Months-

Books
Paw Patrol, Mickey, and Curious George
Lamby (still) who she sleeps with along with her two new kitties
Shoes!
Laying on our bed and cuddling :) (never thought i'd see the day!)
BOTTLES… I really need to take it down to only 1 a day… oh well haha.
Being outside, she could spend all day out there! I don't know how she will feel when it starts to snow though.
Sitting inside the car… anywhere we go she always wants to just sit in the front seat of peoples cars and hang out she loves it so much!
Baths :)
Fishes

Scarlett - 17 Months

I haven't done an update for SO long, I feel like there is so much to be said but not at the same time. Scarlett seems the same to me... But then when I look back at pictures, so much has already changed! I was looking back at her first birthday party and I couldn't believe how different she already looks! I still haven't come to terms with her not being a baby anymore, but I decided I don't have to until there is another baby in the picture. :) Which for all of you curious cats out there, still isn't happening at least for awhile... but thats just how I feel today. I literally change my mind every day haha.

Scarlett is learning new things everyday and is the most independent girl! Every day she tried her hardest to dress herself. So far she has conquered putting her head through her shirt and putting her shoes on... ish. Whenever I am doing laundry she grabs as many clothes as she can and insist on putting all of them on her neck. She won't sit in her high chair anymore and has to sit at the table right next to me or right on my lap, this hasn't been my favorite thing but I will do whatever is needed to get some food in that girl!

She is still as picky as ever with her food, but I keep trying out new things with her as much as I can. Lately her favorites are chicken nuggets, cheese strings, oranges, watermelon, Cheetos, quesadillas, yogurt, and the dreaded bottle. I've been trying to keep her on a good schedule lately so that we can sit down and eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner because she was always a snicker and ate all day but very little. So far it's been going pretty good but at night she gets tired too early and wont eat much dinner so I will have to switch up something.

Poor Scarlett has been a little trial run for me and Rob but I feel that's how everyone is with their first! I had NO clue what I was doing with Scarlett when she was born, but we are learning together and something about that is so sweet. Some days are hard to keep up with her because she is always go, go, go but I have so much fun with her every day and have really been trying to not stress about the little things. Motherhood is meant to be enjoyed and that's exactly what I am doing.

Here's a little update on some of Scarlett's favorite things.

Picking the flowers to smell - more like inhale.
MICKEY MOUSE - if I ever need her to stay still for more than 2 seconds... This is the key.
Slides - she is the biggest daredevil and slides down face first.
Her beloved lamby... Who I desperately need to wash but has batteries so I need some help with that one...
Books - animal books are her favorite and is trying to nail all the sounds... So to her every animal says something like "uhrmmmm"
The Zoo - she loves all of the animals but her favorites are by far the monkeys and the donkey... Hahahahaha so weird I know.
Running in circles until she falls - I have no idea where she learned that haha
ROB - she has always been such a mommys girl and still is, but all day she will say "daddooo" until he comes home.
And if you tell her to "front roll" she will gladly stand on her head until she rolls over.

She is a non-stop ball of energy who uses the word "no" a little too much, but she is the sweetest baby  and life would definitely not be the same without her. I can't imagine my life any other way then it is right now! I love it SO much and it's all because of my little family!

Scarlett In The Summer

This summer has been so much fun with Scarlett! Last summer we didn't go outside too much since she was so little so I am really trying to make up for it… because she remembers last summer and everything. So since it has been SO long since I have blogged I thought I would just catch everyone up to what we have been up to this summer!

Our normal summer routine goes a little something like this…

My alarm clock (Scarlett) wakes me up at about 7 every morning as she is saying "baatoll baatoll", and then we lay around and watch cartoons until about 8 when Rob gets home from the gym. When Rob gets home he usually gets some breakfast ready and since i'm not really a breakfast person he shares with Scarlett while they eat at the table together.

After Rob leaves for work at 9, Scarlett and I head to the park right by our house for a morning run.  Somedays, like today, we go over to my moms house to run the hills with her and my sister. As soon as the run is over I let her out of the stroller and she runs as quick as her little feet will let her to the   play place. And then I have to drag her off for a nap.

Usually after her nap we will go swim in the backyard or go to a water park… but lately it hasn't been very nice outside so we have been going to the library or just stay cooped up inside playing.

After playing for a couple of hours we come back home to get some dinner ready and wait for Rob to get home! And then they play until it's time to go to bed. :)

Scarlett - 13 months

Somehow after Scarlett turned a year old she seems so much older to me. It really is so sad... she picks up on so many things now. It's making everything so much more difficult! Like now I can't just sit and eat my favorite candy and drink my diet pepsi. Instead, I come back to find a half drunk Diet Pepsi with a mouth full of chocolates... with the wrapping still on. And it has become a mandatory thing to always check inside the toilet before using... you never know who's wallet or bottle could be inside. But to be completely honest I wouldn't have it any other way! I never know what I'm going to get with Scarlett each day and that's what I love! She brings so much joy and laughter to our house, I couldn't imagine it being any other way.

I just love everything about her and she keeps getting more and more fun! She has also (shockingly) been quite the cuddler! Lately the weather here hasn't been the greatest so we have been stuck inside. It has worked out well though because the poor girl is getting 4 teeth right now so our days have consisted of Frozen, bottles, and cuddles. Some nights I feel bad that we didn't go out during the day, but I wouldn't trade these days for the world! I've been trying to cherish the time I have with just us two because it won't always be like this. I love our one on one time and I know I will miss these kind of days.

Scarlett's latest obsessions-
-Frozen
-Cheese Quesidillas
-Any kind of stuffed animal
-Cuddling :)
-"Body slamming"
-Bottles
-Anything I'm drinking. Whoops.

Latest dislikes-
-Anything she doesn't want... ya never really know haha.

She is still sleeping through the night and I still can't believe I waited that long to let her cry it out. But looking back on it I don't think I would trade those late night boob calls for anything :). I'm still in the process of weening… I have only been feeding her when she wakes up and then before she goes to bed. She has been super inconsistent with her naps lately so I never really know what to get with her. The past couple of weeks she has been sleeping from 7-7 with one nap in the afternoon. It has been working really well for us! At first I was so sad to see the first nap go, but now that i'm use to it I have really enjoyed the new schedule!

Scarlett's One Year Pictures

My sister Taylor surprised me and told me that she was going to get Scarlett's pictures done for me! I was so excited! I thought about it before, but decided to not get them done because I had a lot going on around that time. Thinking back on it now I would've been so dumb to not get them done because they are SO cute. Taylor has a friend that does photography so she had her do them and they turned out SO cute!!

Scarlett dove right into her cake and there was NO stopping her right when she saw it! She loves ALL things sugary :). There are SO many pictures and are all so cute it is so hard to decide which ones to put on here!
