Scarlett - 17 Months

I haven't done an update for SO long, I feel like there is so much to be said but not at the same time. Scarlett seems the same to me... But then when I look back at pictures, so much has already changed! I was looking back at her first birthday party and I couldn't believe how different she already looks! I still haven't come to terms with her not being a baby anymore, but I decided I don't have to until there is another baby in the picture. :) Which for all of you curious cats out there, still isn't happening at least for awhile... but thats just how I feel today. I literally change my mind every day haha.

Scarlett is learning new things everyday and is the most independent girl! Every day she tried her hardest to dress herself. So far she has conquered putting her head through her shirt and putting her shoes on... ish. Whenever I am doing laundry she grabs as many clothes as she can and insist on putting all of them on her neck. She won't sit in her high chair anymore and has to sit at the table right next to me or right on my lap, this hasn't been my favorite thing but I will do whatever is needed to get some food in that girl!

She is still as picky as ever with her food, but I keep trying out new things with her as much as I can. Lately her favorites are chicken nuggets, cheese strings, oranges, watermelon, Cheetos, quesadillas, yogurt, and the dreaded bottle. I've been trying to keep her on a good schedule lately so that we can sit down and eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner because she was always a snicker and ate all day but very little. So far it's been going pretty good but at night she gets tired too early and wont eat much dinner so I will have to switch up something.

Poor Scarlett has been a little trial run for me and Rob but I feel that's how everyone is with their first! I had NO clue what I was doing with Scarlett when she was born, but we are learning together and something about that is so sweet. Some days are hard to keep up with her because she is always go, go, go but I have so much fun with her every day and have really been trying to not stress about the little things. Motherhood is meant to be enjoyed and that's exactly what I am doing.

Here's a little update on some of Scarlett's favorite things.

Picking the flowers to smell - more like inhale.
MICKEY MOUSE - if I ever need her to stay still for more than 2 seconds... This is the key.
Slides - she is the biggest daredevil and slides down face first.
Her beloved lamby... Who I desperately need to wash but has batteries so I need some help with that one...
Books - animal books are her favorite and is trying to nail all the sounds... So to her every animal says something like "uhrmmmm"
The Zoo - she loves all of the animals but her favorites are by far the monkeys and the donkey... Hahahahaha so weird I know.
Running in circles until she falls - I have no idea where she learned that haha
ROB - she has always been such a mommys girl and still is, but all day she will say "daddooo" until he comes home.
And if you tell her to "front roll" she will gladly stand on her head until she rolls over.

She is a non-stop ball of energy who uses the word "no" a little too much, but she is the sweetest baby  and life would definitely not be the same without her. I can't imagine my life any other way then it is right now! I love it SO much and it's all because of my little family!

Scarlett In The Summer

This summer has been so much fun with Scarlett! Last summer we didn't go outside too much since she was so little so I am really trying to make up for it… because she remembers last summer and everything. So since it has been SO long since I have blogged I thought I would just catch everyone up to what we have been up to this summer!

Our normal summer routine goes a little something like this…

My alarm clock (Scarlett) wakes me up at about 7 every morning as she is saying "baatoll baatoll", and then we lay around and watch cartoons until about 8 when Rob gets home from the gym. When Rob gets home he usually gets some breakfast ready and since i'm not really a breakfast person he shares with Scarlett while they eat at the table together.

After Rob leaves for work at 9, Scarlett and I head to the park right by our house for a morning run.  Somedays, like today, we go over to my moms house to run the hills with her and my sister. As soon as the run is over I let her out of the stroller and she runs as quick as her little feet will let her to the   play place. And then I have to drag her off for a nap.

Usually after her nap we will go swim in the backyard or go to a water park… but lately it hasn't been very nice outside so we have been going to the library or just stay cooped up inside playing.

After playing for a couple of hours we come back home to get some dinner ready and wait for Rob to get home! And then they play until it's time to go to bed. :)
